Atlantic Yards Needs New Enviro Review: NY Judge

Law360, Washington (July 14, 2011, 12:06 PM EDT) -- A New York state judge ruled Wednesday that real estate magnate Bruce Ratner’s planned $4.9 billion real estate project to bring the NBA’s New Jersey Nets to Brooklyn cannot go ahead without a new environmental review.

Develop Don't Destroy Brooklyn Inc. and the Prospect Heights Neighborhood Development Council each filed petitions against the Empire State Development Corp. and developer Forest City Ratner Companies LLC under the State Environmental Quality Review Act challenging modification of the plan for development of the Atlantic Yards project in Brooklyn....
