Oracle Wants Motorola Witness In Google Android IP Row

Law360, New York (August 5, 2011, 8:05 PM EDT) -- Oracle America Inc. asked an Illinois federal court on Friday to compel a witness from Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. to testify in its California suit accusing Google Inc. of infringing Oracle's Java technology in its popular Android software platform.

Oracle says that testimony from Motorola, which is a manufacturer of many devices that run on Android software, was paramount to its patent infringement case against Google. According to the motion, Motorola has resisted requests to provide a witness in the case.
