Clearstream, Citi Accused Of Helping Iran Hide $250M

Law360, New York (August 16, 2011, 8:54 PM EDT) -- Family members of 241 U.S. soldiers killed in a 1983 bombing in Lebanon are suing Luxembourg-based Clearstream Banking SA and Citibank NA for allegedly helping Iran improperly transfer $250 million in assets out of the U.S., according to a partially redacted complaint unsealed Monday.

The nearly 1,000 plaintiffs are seeking the transferred funds in New York federal court to satisfy part of $2.7 billion Iran owes them after a Washington federal court ruled the country was involved in the October 1983 bombing of a U.S. Marine...
