Dallas Stars File For Ch. 11 With Plan To Sell

Law360, New York (September 15, 2011, 10:37 PM EDT) -- The Dallas Stars filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Delaware on Thursday as part of a prearranged reorganization plan that includes selling the NHL franchise to Vancouver businessman Tom Gaglardi and his family.

The Stars announced Thursday that they had reached an agreement to sell the team and all hockey-related assets to entities owned by Gaglardi, who also owns the Western Hockey League's Kamloops Blazers. The acquisition would include a 50 percent interest in the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
