Army Corps Rocked By Bribery Scam Over $1B In Contracts

Law360, Washington (October 4, 2011, 5:39 PM EDT) -- Four individuals were arrested in Virginia and Washington on Tuesday in what law enforcement officials called possibly the largest-ever federal contract bribery scheme, involving over $1 billion worth of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers information technology contracts and two Corps employees.

Corps project manager Kerry F. Khan, his son Lee A. Khan, Corps program director Michael Alexander and Harold Babb, director of contracts for Alaska native corporation EyakTek, were charged in a grand jury indictment unsealed Tuesday.
