Gamers Want Protected EA-NFL Memo In Antitrust Action

Law360, New York (October 27, 2011, 6:57 PM EDT) -- A class of video game purchasers asked a California federal court Wednesday to force Electronic Arts Inc. to produce a key document in their suit claiming EA stifles competition in the industry by maintaining exclusive licensing deals with the National Football League and other football organizations.

The class plaintiffs said that EA cannot cite the work-product doctrine in keeping from the evidence pool a communication between the company and the NFL that the plaintiffs say is crucial to their antitrust suit.
