NBA Players' Union Dissolves To Prep Antitrust Challenge

Law360, New York (November 14, 2011, 8:02 PM EST) -- The National Basketball Players Association said Monday that it was pulling out of negotiations with the NBA and will disband in order to begin antitrust proceedings against the league, in a contentious move some legal experts describe as fraught with uncertainty.

Sports law expert and Fordham University law professor Mark Conrad said while the players may believe they have a better chance at winning damages in court or possibly believe this move will pressure the NBA into a settlement, they face a difficult road ahead....
