Emirates To Cough Up $8M In Price-Fixing MDL Settlement

Law360, New York (December 13, 2011, 8:27 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge on Tuesday approved a $7.8 million settlement ending Emirates' involvement in a multidistrict class action accusing a slew of airlines of plotting to fix the rates for air cargo service to and from the U.S.

U.S. District Judge John Gleeson gave preliminary approval to the settlement, which represents 3.7 percent of Emirates' sales of air freight shipping services to and from the U.S. during the class period, January 2000 to September 2006.
