Bill Unveiled To Force EPA To Rule On Emissions

Law360 (July 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two U.S. Senators have introduced a bill that would force the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to decide on California's request to regulate greenhouse gas emissions by Sept. 30.

The EPA has said it would make a ruling on California's request for a waiver under the Clean Air Act by the end of the year, but the senators said that was not soon enough. Sens. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif) and Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) unveiled the legislation Thursday.
