LCD Suits Against Samsung, Sanyo Tossed In MDL

Law360, New York (January 31, 2012, 4:12 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Monday dismissed as untimely two separate antitrust complaints against Samsung SDI Co. Ltd. and Sanyo Consumer Electronics Co. Ltd. as part of the multidistrict litigation over LCD price-fixing.

U.S. District Judge Susan Illston ruled that the state law claims in both complaints — one filed by AT&T Corp., the other by a group of retailers including Target Corp. — are barred by statutes of limitations that began running when the U.S. Department of Justice announced its investigation into the price-fixing conspiracy...
