Torre Benches Dodgers Bid As McCourt Clings To Parking

Law360, New York (February 24, 2012, 3:01 PM EST) -- Former Los Angeles Dodgers manager Joe Torre and a real estate developer have backed out of bidding for the team, citing current owner Frank McCourt’s refusal to include parking lot assets in a bankruptcy sale, according to a letter published Thursday.

The team, under court protection in Delaware since June after McCourt's disastrous tenure at the helm of the storied franchise, expects the sale to be finalized ahead of the confirmation of a Chapter 11 plan that will transfer the team to the highest bidder and repay creditors....
