Apple's iPhone Tapped In Suit Over Keyboard Patent

Law360, New York (August 3, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Already under legal fire over its battery, Apple Inc.'s much-ballyhooed iPhone is now accused of violating a patent through its touch-screen keyboard.

St. Petersburg, Fla.-based SP Technologies LLC filed an infringement lawsuit against Apple on Thursday in a Texas federal court over a patent for an onscreen keyboard which a user cannot minimize, maximize or delete. SPT asserted that Apple violated four claims of U.S. Patent No. 6,784,873.
