Parents Fail To Keep Suit Over Facebook Kid Ads In Ill.

Law360, New York (March 12, 2012, 1:52 PM EDT) -- An Illinois federal judge on Monday refused to reverse his transfer of a proposed class action over Facebook Inc.'s use of children's likenesses in advertisements to California, saying he no longer has jurisdiction over the case.

The suit accuses Facebook of continually using the names and photographs of children to advertise products and services without their consent and in violation of state law. It was brought in June by two children who use the site, with their parents serving as their representatives before the court.
