Judge Bows Out Of Facebook Ad Suit Day Before Hearing

Law360, New York (July 11, 2012, 9:22 PM EDT) -- The California federal judge overseeing the class action alleging Facebook Inc. uses people's pictures in ads without their permission recused herself Wednesday, just a day before a scheduled hearing to discuss the social network's plan to pay $20 million to exit the suit.

U.S. District Judge Lucy H. Koh, who had overseen the case since shortly after it began in April 2011, gave no reason for her decision to step back from the suit in a brief order stipulating that the case would be reassigned....
