Streets Near Nets Stadium Don't Need Parking Permit: NYC DOT

Law360, New York (July 13, 2012, 3:54 PM EDT) -- The streets surrounding the new Brooklyn Nets stadium at the $4.9 billion Atlantic Yards project do not need a parking permit program, despite residents' concerns about congestion on game days, according to a study released Thursday by the New York City Department of Transportation.

On average, residents occupy only about 76 percent of the 9,395 on-street parking spaces in the neighborhoods surrounding the massive development, showing that an influx of visitors would not cause unnecessary displacement, the report said.
