9th Circ. Shutters 'Partridge Family' Star's Publicity Suit

Law360, New York (July 16, 2012, 9:39 PM EDT) -- The Ninth Circuit said Monday that actress Shirley Jones, star of the 1970s TV show “The Partridge Family,” had consented to being photographed at red-carpet events, affirming the dismissal of her proposed right of publicity class action against digital image company Corbis Corp.

A three-judge panel dispatched Jones' challenge to a May 2011 ruling that said Corbis held the rights to distribute event images and that Jones had given her implicit consent when she attended highly-public red-carpet functions.
