Schulte Ducks Malpractice Claims From Refco Investors

Law360, New York (July 18, 2012, 10:04 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Wednesday tossed a malpractice suit accusing Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP of improperly drafting documents for hedge fund investors in doomed brokerage firm Refco Inc., despite a special master's recommendation to allow the bulk of the claims to proceed.

In a short order filed in the Southern District of New York, U.S. District Judge Jed S. Rakoff said he disagreed with Special Master Daniel J. Capra's report saying Schulte Roth must face most of the allegations brought by the liquidators...
