Avon Wins Lead Plaintiff Role In GSK Securities Suit

Law360 (October 8, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Avon Pension Fund was named lead plaintiff in a securities class action against pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline PLC on Friday, beating out a group of German investors and the City of Tallahassee Pension Plan, which had been vying for the role.

Judge Louis L. Stanton ruled that Avon, which is represented by Coughlin Stoia Geller Rudman & Robbins LLP, is the “most adequate” plaintiff for the role. Avon has claimed that it suffered a net loss of $2.69 million as a result of investing in GSK stock....
