Renters Win Cert. In FCRA Suit Over Outdated Credit Reports

Law360, New York (August 24, 2012, 4:41 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Friday certified a nationwide class of jilted renters who say a housing consumer credit service that provides landlords reports to use in evaluating rental applications has reported outdated court judgments in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Dawn Massey, who has accused On-Site Manager Inc. of reporting a judgment of eviction against her that was more than seven years old, will lead a plaintiff class of nationwide consumers who have had outdated civil actions against them reported as well...
