9th Circ. Affirms Ex-NBA Star's $1.5M Morgan Keegan Award

Law360, New York (October 25, 2012, 7:27 PM EDT) -- The Ninth Circuit on Thursday upheld a $1.45 million arbitration award in favor of retired NBA star Horace Grant in a dispute over his former brokerage Morgan Keegan & Co.'s sale of bad debt investment products.

In affirming Grant's 2009 arbitration award, a three-judge panel said a district court correctly denied Morgan Keegan's motion to vacate the award, saying Morgan Keegan received a fundamentally fair hearing before a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority arbitration panel that heard the dispute.
