Nike Can't Dodge Protective Gear IP Litigation

Law360, New York (November 2, 2012, 2:49 PM EDT) -- An Illinois federal judge on Thursday denied Nike USA Inc.'s bid to throw out patent infringement claims brought by McDavid Knee-Guard Inc. and Stirling Mouldings Ltd. over the athletic apparel giant's "Pro Combat" line.

U.S. District Judge James Holderman refused to grant Nike's motion for summary judgment of noninfringement of U.S. Patent No. RE41,346. Nike's motion would have eliminated the need for a federal trial over McDavid Knee's and Stirling's patent infringement claims.
