EU Ruling May Signal More Cautious Cartel Raids

Law360, New York (November 14, 2012, 9:42 PM EST) -- A European Union court ruled Wednesday that the European Commission did not have enough evidence to force Nexans SA and Prysmian SpA to turn over information about all their electric cable businesses during a dawn cartel raid, a decision that could force the antitrust watchdog to rethink the scope of its inspection decisions.
