Creditors Help Calpine Against Pension Fund Claims

Law360 (November 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The creditor and shareholder committees in Calpine Corp.'s bankruptcy case filed joinders on Tuesday seeking to throw out a pension fund's $60 million proof of claim for alleged securities violations.

In court documents filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, the official committee of unsecured creditors and the official committee of equity security holders said the claim, brought by the Hawaii Structural Ironworkers Pension Fund, should be disallowed in its entirety.
