Ex-MLB Star Dykstra Gets 6 1/2 Months For Bankruptcy Fraud

Law360, Los Angeles (December 3, 2012, 10:41 PM EST) -- A California judge on Monday sentenced Lenny Dykstra to 6 1/2 months in prison for bankruptcy fraud, concealing bankruptcy estate property and money laundering, expressing dismay that the former baseball All-Star could have become involved in a "spectrum" of criminal conduct after a distinguished baseball career.

The sentence was well below the 30 months that federal prosecutors urged for Dykstra, saying only a significant punishment “will bring home to defendant that he has to abide by the same rules as everyone else.” The former New York...
