State Suits To Protect Citizens Not Class Actions: 2nd Circ.

Law360, New York (January 9, 2013, 8:03 PM EST) -- Lawsuits filed by states to recoup money and protect citizens don’t qualify as class actions and can’t be removed to federal court under the Class Action Fairness Act, the Second Circuit ruled in a published opinion Wednesday.
