Americas on Thursday partially cut U.S. Bank NA loose from the sprawling litigation surrounding real estate mogul Sam Zell’s 2007 buyout of the media company, which recently emerged from a four-year bankruptcy process.

Deutsche Bank and its fellow trustees for various Tribune notes — Law Debenture Trust Co. of New York and Wilmington Trust Co. — moved in November to have U.S. District Judge William H. Pauley III dismiss U.S. Bank without prejudice from the multidistrict litigation...
