Hobby Car Co. Sues Dallas Architects Over $32M Complex Plan

Law360, New York (January 17, 2013, 6:58 PM EST) -- Traxxas LP, a maker of hobby-class radio-controlled cars and boats, hit Merriman Associates Architects Inc. with a suit Monday in a Dallas state court alleging it botched the construction designs for Traxxas’ new $32 million headquarters in McKinney, Texas.

As its business was growing, Traxxas claims it hired Merriman in 2010 to design a three-building complex that would include a 122,000-square-foot, four-story office building, a 67,700-square-foot distribution center and a 55,200-square-foot museum — a new “campus” headquarters located in the master-planned Craig Ranch community that Traxxas...
