Lights Over Paris Singer Charged With $10M Loan Fraud

Law360, Los Angeles (January 25, 2013, 9:13 PM EST) -- Rock band Lights Over Paris' frontman has been charged with fraudulently obtaining $10 million in loans to finance his band and extravagant lifestyle, the U.S. attorney’s office in Los Angeles said Friday.

Robert Brandon Mawhinney allegedly made false statements on loan applications to several banks, saying he needed money to get his nascent rock band off the ground and buy recording equipment, according to a criminal complaint filed in the case earlier this month.
