DOI Beats Challenge To Calif. Casino Project Deal

Law360, Washington (January 30, 2013, 5:40 PM EST) -- A Washington federal judge on Tuesday refused to block the U.S. Department of the Interior from purchasing land in California and allowing a group of Native Americans to build a casino and hotel on the property, saying the surrounding community's environmental, moral and other qualms can't prevent the transaction.
