Ford To Settle Suits Over SUV Rollovers

Law360, New York (November 29, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Using customer vouchers instead of cash, Ford Motor Company has agreed to settle litigation over its popular Ford Explorer with about a million consumers.

The company is settling economic loss and false advertisement claims brought in the wake of the recall of more than 6 million Firestone tires on the Explorer in 2000. Lawsuits alleged that the sport utility vehicles were likely to roll over though the company had advertised the models as safe.
