Macmillan Settles DOJ's E-Book Price-Fixing Case

Law360, New York (February 8, 2013, 1:14 PM EST) -- Macmillan has become the last of five major publishers to settle the U.S. Department of Justice's allegations that the publishing houses conspired with each other and Apple Inc. to fix prices on electronic books, the antitrust regulator said Friday.

The DOJ reached a deal that would resolve price-fixing claims against Holtzbrinck Publishers LLC, which operates as Macmillan, the watchdog said in a statement.
