Sony Open Promoters Hit Back In Miami Tennis Center Dispute

Law360, Miami (February 8, 2013, 10:07 PM EST) -- The organizer of Miami's Sony Open tennis tournament filed suit Wednesday in Florida state court against Bruce C. Matheson and Miami-Dade County, in a dispute over changes to Crandon Park on Key Biscayne, site of the event for more than 25 years.

International Players Championship Inc. claims its contract with the county for a tennis complex in Crandon Park takes precedence over a settlement reached later between the county and Matheson, whose relatives deeded the land for the park.
