David Beckham's Anti-SLAPP Appeal Kicked Out Of 9th Circ.

Law360, Los Angeles (February 11, 2013, 11:12 PM EST) -- The Ninth Circuit on Monday refused to resuscitate David Beckham's $25 million defamation suit claiming Bauer Publishing Co. LP's In Touch Weekly willfully published false claims that the soccer star was unfaithful to his wife, ruling the court lacked jurisdiction.

Beckham sued Bauer, which publishes In Touch Weekly, for libel, slander and intentional infliction of emotional distress in 2010, alleging it knowingly published a false story saying he had a tryst with $10,000-per-night call girl Irma Nicci. The suit also names Nicci as a defendant....
