DC Councilman Hit With $100M Fraud, Bid Rigging Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (March 25, 2013, 10:18 PM EDT) -- Construction management firm Banneker Ventures LLC hit a Washington, D.C., City Council member and rival developer LaKritz Adler Development LLC with a $100 million lawsuit in D.C. federal court Monday, accusing the politician of fraud associated with alleged rigging of government contracts.

The lawsuit raises allegations that D.C. City Councilman Jim Graham used his position on the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority board to help major campaign contributor LaKritz Adler win a contract to revitalize a former rail site with a mixed-use development project.
