LG Nears Class Action Deal Over "Defective" HDTVs

Law360, New York (January 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Consumers who bought LG Electronics Inc. high-definition projection televisions have reached a deal to resolve class action allegations that the South Korea-based technology company concealed the existence of defects in the TVs.

Liaison counsel for plaintiffs in the New Jersey federal case told the court about the deal, which would resolve claims that the televisions had a defective component which caused a blue haze, blue clouds and blue streaks to be displayed on-screen.
