YouTube Again Wins Dismissal Of $1B Viacom Copyright Suit

Law360, New York (April 18, 2013, 7:59 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Thursday threw out Viacom International Inc.'s $1 billion copyright suit against Google Inc.'s YouTube for the second time, ruling that the video-sharing site is shielded from liability by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Judge Louis Stanton granted summary judgment to YouTube in 2010, but the Second Circuit vacated that decision last year and remanded.
