Former Vivendi Chairman Settles ERISA Suit

Law360 (January 10, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A former vice chairman for Vivendi SA has dropped a breach of contract lawsuit claiming the company illegally slashed his pension payments by two-thirds.

U.S. District Judge George B. Daniels signed a stipulated order on Wednesday that dismissed with prejudice Edgar J. Bronfman Jr.'s case against Vivendi. Terms of the parties settlement were not disclosed.

Bronfman, who worked for Vivendi and its predecessor for 20 years, claimed payments for 15 additional years were expressly granted by three separate contracts. Bronfman is now chairman and chief executive...
