$1.1B In Convention, Tourism Projects On Tap For Chicago

Law360, New York (May 16, 2013, 3:48 PM EDT) -- With the help of some private investment into an arena near McCormick Place, Chicago's largest convention center space, the city will now be gearing up for $1.1 billion worth of hotel, arena and tourist projects,  Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced Thursday.

The mayor unveiled $640 million worth of new investments that will build on $470 million worth of recently announced projects — all of which are meant to bolster the city's tourism and tradeshow markets, according to a statement.
