Court Tosses Part Of Design Defect Suit V. Honda

Law360, New York (January 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Citing issues of standing and the statute of limitations, a district court judge has dismissed part of a lawsuit against American Honda Motor Company, Inc. which alleges that a model of the company's Gold Wing motorcycles has a design defect that causes it to wobble at low speeds.

In a decision Thursday, Magistrate Judge Nan Nolan of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois dismissed some claims against the automaker, including a warranty claim that the judge said was time barred.
