Time Warner Looting $11B From Customers, Class Suit Says

Law360, Los Angeles (June 21, 2013, 4:11 PM EDT) -- Time Warner Cable Inc. is squeezing $11 billion out of its Southern California subscribers by charging them for Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Dodgers telecasts as part of bundled cable packages, a class action filed this week in California state court alleges.

The region's biggest cable provider is engaging in unfair business practices by bundling sports channels with enhanced basic cable services and preventing subscribers — most of whom don't even like sports — from opting out of them, according to Tuesday's suit.
