Law360, New York (July 9, 2013, 4:07 PM EDT) -- Schneider National Carriers Inc. on Monday agreed to shell out $3.5 million to settle a consolidated class action brought by its California mechanics who allege the trucking company violated labor laws by failing to pay workers for overtime and provide them with meal and rest breaks.
Lead plaintiff Alan Krumbine asked a California federal court to give final approval to a settlement in which Schneider agreed to pay roughly 200 current and former mechanics for the violations. The mechanics also allege Schneider failed to provide proper wages due upon termination and proper wage statements.
