DOJ Wants To Limit Apple Agreements On All Media

Law360, New York (August 2, 2013, 9:50 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice on Friday proposed barring Apple Inc. from signing distribution deals with any digital media suppliers that would likely force rival retailers to raise prices, after a judge ruled that the company had orchestrated a plot to fix e-book prices.

The DOJ and the 33 state attorneys general who successfully accused Apple of conspiring with five major publishers to raise e-book prices moved Friday to ban the iPad maker from similar conduct in the future.
