Bath & Body Asks Judge To Kill $300M 'Twilight' IP Suit

Law360, New York (August 7, 2013, 7:18 PM EDT) -- Bath & Body Works urged a New York federal judge Wednesday to throw out a $300 million trademark suit from the makers of the popular “Twilight” films, saying its “Twilight”-branded cosmetics do not infringe the film's marks.

Lawyers for Bath & Body, which operates over 1,500 stores in the U.S., argued that its cosmetics are far enough removed from the realm of film that Summit Entertainment LLC, the maker of the “Twilight” films, should not be able to sue for trademark infringement.
