BofA Borrowers Defend Class In Force-Placed Insurance Case

By Lance Duroni (August 12, 2013, 9:50 PM EDT) -- Mortgage borrowers who sued Bank of America NA over so-called force-placed insurance policies urged a California federal judge on Thursday to certify their class over the bank's objections.

The four plaintiffs, led by Christopher Gustafson, argued in a reply brief that they had not, as BofA contends, backed off their original claims in favor of a sweeping challenge to insurance rates that is unsuited for a class action.
