Sierra Trading Post Accused Of Eavesdropping On Customers

Law360, New York (August 14, 2013, 7:54 PM EDT) -- Outdoor gear and clothing retailer Sierra Trading Post Inc. stealthily listens in on calls to and from its customer services representatives, a customer has claimed in a putative class action removed to California federal court Wednesday.

The outdoor gear and clothing retailer, which sells its products primarily online and through mail-order catalogs, is accused of violating state law by recording both inbound and outbound phone calls with its California customers without first giving the required notice that the communications were being recorded.
