School Bus Drivers Push For Cert. In OT Wage Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (August 14, 2013, 7:58 PM EDT) -- California school bus drivers who allege First Student Inc. shorted them for off-the-clock work urged a state judge on Wednesday to certify a class of 8,000 drivers, saying the company has a common policy of discouraging drivers from making overtime pay requests.

Carol Gillam, an attorney for the putative class, argued that the declarations of 50 former First Student drivers showed there was a companywide policy of "not paying at all for certain excess work" or "making it so difficult to get approval for that work"...
