LA Transit Agency On Verge Of $28M Win In Construction Case

Law360, Los Angeles (August 21, 2013, 5:12 PM EDT) -- A California state judge Wednesday tentatively entered a $27.7 million judgment for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority in its 17-year-old lawsuit against a Parsons Corp.-Dillingham Construction joint venture, saying Parsons excessively billed MTA for overhead during the construction of the city's Metro Red Line subway decades ago.

At a three-hour hearing, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge John Shepard Wiley Jr. stated in his tentative ruling that Parsons-Dillingham “broke the rules” of the parties' contract, stating that it “had a contractual duty to bill properly.”...
