CBS Blasts Time Warner After Verizon Retransmission Deal

Law360, New York (August 22, 2013, 3:55 PM EDT) -- CBS Corp. said Thursday that it had reached a three-year distribution agreement with Verizon Communications Inc., an announcement the broadcaster used to once again bash Time Warner Cable Inc. for its role in the companies' three-week-old standoff.

In an internal memo released to the media, CBS CEO Leslie Moonves said the price accepted by Verizon for the right to retransmit the network's programming over its FiOS pay television service was almost identical to a deal that Time Warner has refused to consider.
