Emory University To Pay $1.5M Over Double-Billing Claims

Law360, New York (August 28, 2013, 6:11 PM EDT) -- Emory University has agreed to pay $1.5 million to settle a Georgia federal whistleblower suit claiming that its Winship Cancer Institute wrongly billed Medicare and Medicaid for services already reimbursed by a clinical trial sponsor, the U.S. Department of Justice announced Wednesday.
