Ocwen, Identity Theft Co. Made Harassing Calls, Suit Says
By Igor Kossov (September 4, 2013, 5:03 PM EDT) -- Identity theft protection company Intersections Inc. and mortgage lender Ocwen Financial Corp. teamed up to telemarket services to customers without their permission, according to a proposed class action filed in Illinois state court Tuesday.
Mark Wolfkiel and Kelli Majiros accuses Intersections of repeatedly calling Ocwen's customers, despite their requests to stop, after Ocwen provided its business partner with their contact information. The complaint also alleges that Ocwen made some telemarketing calls to its own customers on Intersections' behalf.
The calls violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, according to the plaintiffs.
